Why Liverpool chimneys need the work they do
The village of Liverpool has some of the oldest continuously occupied housing in the northern half of Onondaga County, and chimneys there are frequently original to the house. It cannot keep that shaft warm, so exhaust condenses on the way up and the acidic condensate quietly destroys the clay tile from the inside. It is one of the most common reasons a Liverpool chimney needs relining, and almost nobody connects it to the furnace upgrade that caused it.
